Puking Skeleton in the Bath: Halloween Decoration

Sharing is caring!

Make a DIY puking skeleton in a toxic green bath! Fun, creepy Halloween prop using a trough, dye, and a pump for gross-out backyard haunt vibes.

You’ve probably seen this idea everywhere or some variation of it. Skeleton puking toxic waste… I did a little bit of my own version based on the supplies I had and the amount of effort I wanted to put in. Therefore, this is skeleton puking in the bathtub.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1: We started out by getting a horse trough that I had that was empty. It’s important that it doesn’t have any holes in it so it doesn’t drain out. This is supposed to be the bathtub. If you have an actual bathtub, even better!

Step 2: We placed our skeleton into it and ran clear tubing up through his rib cage and out of his mouth.

Step 3: The tubing attached to a pond pump that would cycle water from the trough up through his mouth. The pump should be in the water at the bottom of the trough.

Step 4: We filled the trough with water and plugged in the pump to make sure it was working properly.

Step 5: Afterwards we just added our supplies to turn the water green. Some people use glow sticks… I used Green Gobbler Green water tracing dye. This is used to find leaks usually so it’s nice to have on hand I guess? You only need a little bit of it to make your water green!

Step 6: We added little Halloween rubber duckies to the water for kids to grab as a treat… and floating eyeballs for special effects.

Step 7: You’ll want to add some lighting around it to make it pop.

Step 8: We also added a bubble machine to make it look like a bubble bath. I wish we could have gotten the bubbles to go a little bit slower. It felt more like a bubble attack than a bubble bath.
