Light up your Halloween Trail with this easy DIY skull-on-a-stick project using sticks, lights, and plastic skulls for a creepy, glowing path display.

I needed a simple project for our Halloween Trail this year so I decided to take some sticks and some skulls and make some heads on a stick to light our spooky Halloween Trail.
This is a super easy project.

Heads on a Stick: Skull Themed Halloween Decoration for Lighting the Trail
Project Supplies
- Sticks
- Skulls
- Drill & drill bits
- Small battery operated string lights
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Take your skull and use a small drill and bit to drill a hole in the bottom that your lights and stick can fit through.

Step 2: Use the drill to poke holes where the eyes are … Or wherever else you want! It was fun to experiment with different areas to see how they looked!

Step 3: Take a stick and carve the end so it’s nice and pointy and will stick in the ground.
Step 4: Feed your lights through the hole in the bottom of the skull.

Step 5: Push your stick into the ground and place the head on top.

All done. Just turn that light on when it’s time for your Halloween Trail!
