DIY Storage Shelving

We purchased a great shed at the beginning of the summer, but we quickly realized we needed to get everything organized for the winter.

Cut your wood and create a frame for the left side from (2) 8′ pieces of 2 x 4 wood.  The right end will be attached to the wall studs.

Step 1

Step 2

Create a rectangle with two 12″ pieces and two 72″ pieces. You may need to adjust yours depending on the size of your shed. The height needs to match the shed studs height.

Screw this piece into the wall stud. On the right side, towards the corner, screw a piece of wood along the stud to make everything flush for the shelving.

Step 3

Step 4

Use 1×3’s to create the shelves EXACTLY how the left frame was made. Cut a piece of plywood to fit on top and screw the plywood on.

Place on top of the supports on each side and screw it into the wall studs behind the shelves. They just sit on the supports and aren’t screwed in.

Step 5

This is the final product. They’re very sturdy and there is so much room for lots of stuff!
