DIY Growth  Chart

This giant wooden growth ruler is a quick and easy project!

Why Get a Growth Ruler?

They are a great way to record your child's growth WITHOUT worrying about erasing the info if you paint or move.

Supplies

Cricut Air 2 or the new      Cricut Maker™ Outdoor Vinyl Transfer sheets – Growth Ruler File – Level – Ruler/Measuring Tape – Screws – Stud Finder – Wood – Stain / Paint

Stain the Wood Ruler

To dry brush, you start by staining your wood. I use a paint brush or a clean old sock to apply the stain.

Once the stain is dry, you use a paint brush that is BARELY dipped in the color you want to lightly brush over the stain. Let dry.

Download a Ruler design for your Cricut. Upload the design to Design Space and resize for your ruler size. Cut the design with your Cricut machine. You should use permanent vinyl.

Hang your Wood Ruler

Hang your wood ruler.  You may be inclined to hang it low, but you need to hang it above the baseboard.  I adjusted the size of my board for the extra height the 'blank space' adds.

Applying Your  Ruler Markings

Make sure you have a good measuring tape or ruler lined up so you get it right. Mine did NOT transfer perfectly.
