I'm here to show you how!
Determine where you want your pond and dig out the area. Save any large rocks to reuse.
Fill the area with large rocks and smaller stones to assist with drainage.
Add cement and lay pavers and your choice of rocks to the pond area.
We also chose to add large pavers around the pond for extra detail. It fills in the area nicely.
Now it's time to choose your plants! Plants make a huge difference in a pond. We went with water hyacinths...
We also went with variegated sweetflag...
As well as Sagitarria. It’s looking pretty sad now, but I’m putting it a bit deeper in the pond and hopefully it will thrive as the season progresses.
You also want to add submerged plants. We chose Anacharis and Foxtail.
Now for the fun part...choosing your fish! We got three Shubunkins (blue and orange) and three Japanese Fantails (orange).
We did end up adding a UV light to clear the water.and it really helped!
