G loves Greek yogurt… He also loves ice cream which I don’t love to give him. My toddler has enough energy as it is, extra sugar isn’t cute. So I decided to experiment with freezing his greek yogurt… we buy it at Costco and end up with extra towards the expiration date so I decided the best way to make sure it doesn’t go bad is to freeze some. I used these crappy popsicle molds that I had for the first try, but I ended up ordering some new ones off Amazon. Here’s a list of popsicle molds on Amazon if you need to pick some up (if you use that link to purchase, you support this blog. Thank you!).
All I did was stir up the yogurt and put it in the molds, put in the popsicle stick.
For the second try, I’d ordered some silicone push up popsicle molds. I don’t recommend these for yogurt. They seem like they’ll be great for freezing liquids, but yogurt was a little too thick and lumpy so there were little pieces that froze inside. When he was eating it, the little pieces at the top fell out and landed on my floor. Ever tried to get greek yogurt off tables or floors? Yeah it’s not fun. Especially if some dries on there. But G loved helping make them and actually they worked really well for non frozen yogurt to make it even more fun to eat (and probably less messy than eating out of the normal yogurt container).
