Did you purchase 13 Simple Sewing Projects for Your Guinea Pigs? If so, here is the supply list so you can get started sewing. I wanted to create an easy place for you to find everything you need for your project.
This post includes affiliate links. I may receive a commission on any purchases made from these links. This does not impact your price for the product.
First, you need to have a sewing machine and all of the associated supplies. If you don’t have one yet, make sure to check out my blog posts: How to Choose a Sewing Machine and Sewing Tools that Make Sewing Easier.
You may also want to learn more about PUL fabric (polyurethane laminate) as I use it for some of these projects.
I’m going to go over some of the fabric types used in this book, but I found a bunch of super cute guinea pig themed fabric on Etsy. Most of this is cottons which I don’t use for the projects in my book, but they were too cute not to share. You can always make something else from cotton!
I’ll try to give you a direct link to the fabrics that are still sold, but I keep a pretty decent stash that I’ve been working through. Some of my fabric is pretty old.
I usually get all of my PUL from Diaper Sewing Supplies because they have pretty prints- I am not an affiliate or getting paid to promote them. I just like their designs, lol. If you’re getting PUL for the bottom of your cage, just get whatever is cheap. The seconds section offers PUL with issues if you want.
Click here to see the plain PUL fabric available on Fabric.com or check out the PUL optoins at Joann Fabric (they have some ‘pretty’ options). If you want lots of choices, including PUL that isn’t being sold still, you may want to check Etsy for fabric being sold by the yard (or in smaller amounts) too.
I don’t have a particular one that I think is worth mentioning, but you can browse the flannel section at Joann.com here. I like anything with a pretty design and usually buy it on sale.
I purchased all of my fleece from Joann Fabrics, including the plain colored ones.
