I found this Ikea shelf below at the thrift store for $16… Bugs in it, ugly old wood, Starburst melted to bottom. I love cleaning up cheap thrift items and making them look great so of course CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. This actually wasn’t as bad as some stuff I’ve found. FYI stickers come off easy with a hair dryer set on warm/hot (don’t burn your fingers), if you’re having trouble getting them off.

Started out by washing it and washing the bins out. I also scuffed up the wood a bit with my sander.
I put two coats of Tame Teal (Sherwin Williams) paint on the wood. This was leftover from painting the nursery. Doesn’t it look gorgeous? I almost stopped here, but I really wanted to distress it so I did.
Distressed and stained, wiping stain off as I went. This is a picture of it once I sanded edges a bit before applying the stain.
Final Pictures, all setup!
