One of the projects outdoors that I needed to take on was the spiders who have enjoyed residence outside on my front and back patios. We seemed to have a larger mosquito population than normal so maybe that led to an increase in the spider population, but whatever the reason they needed to be evicted. Partially for staging purposes and partially because I was starting to be afraid to go outside (shudders!).
I found this link about how to get rid of spiders and I was feeling better about it than using harsh crazy chemicals. The dogs and the baby all go outside so I don’t want to put anything crazy down to kill them. I just want my patio to be less appealing to spiders than my neighbors’ patios (sorry friends!).
We swept the cobwebs down and used a spray bottle to spray the alcohol/water mixture in those spider friendly areas.
|It did make me giggle to realize we actually have spiders on our waterspout though… Haha.|
I didn’t snap any “after” photos as it looks the same minus the spider webs. Time will tell if this alcohol-water solution keeps the buggies away. I hope so… it’s pretty affordable to do it this way!
