I purchased these mesh feeders for my son, K, who is now 6 months old because they looked like a good idea.
I used these ice cube trays and didn’t fill each cube all the way to the top. This helped them fit better in the mesh feeder. If you freeze too large of a cube they will not fit very well. I was using these for baby food with G, but with K we’re doing baby led weaning (giving them soft foods to chew on rather than purees) so I don’t need these.
I think this might be a reasonable option for moms whose older babies won’t take a bottle and who aren’t leaving their baby for long (or often). At 6 months, K won’t really take a bottle unless times are desperate… I hate it because it wastes milk to have most of it dumped when I get home and he’s only taken a sip here and there. Sad. He will take a bottle if I’m gone a LONG time, but doesn’t really finish it. He will, however, have two of these ice cubes even when I’m around to nurse him. He LOVES them. So it gives my husband an alternative if he’s being fussy about taking the bottle while I’m gone for my short work shift.
